Top 8 Concerts in Vancouver September 2016
September 4, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals with Pomo and Duckwrth at the Vogue Theatre
The list of concerts in Vancouver September 2016 starts strong with Anderson .Paak and his backing band, The Free Nationals. From the sounds of it, his set at Pemberton was a festival stand out. Since Paak’s collab with Knxwledge, the California-based singer hasn’t let up. His recent solo album, Malibu, is one of 2016’s best. Try to get your hands on a ticket to the sold out show to hear Anderson’s vocal chops and drumming.

September 12, Action Bronson at the Commodore Ballroom
The queens spitter is taking a break from cooking to rap some words at the Commodore. It’s been a while since he released his major label debut, Mr. Wonderful, which was released in March 2015. New music or not, Bronson puts on one of the best live shows in hip hop. At one of his latest shows, he threw kitchen appliances into the crowd. Come out in a couple Mondays and you’ll possibly catch a panini press.

September 16, Daniel Caesar at the Biltmore
Daniel Caesar, the young Toronto singer, makes his way west for a show at the Biltmore. I’ve seen it advertised on Facebook and it’s worked, I’m excited to see the performance. Stussy presents what should be a great set by the Canadian singer-songwriter.

Where: 2755 Prince Edward St, Vancouver, BC

September 17, Charles Bradley at the Orpheum Theatre
Charles Bradley makes his return to the beautiful city of Vancouver for the second time in 2016. After selling out the Commodore, this time he’s in a slightly bigger venue. Check out our review of when Charles Bradley came to Vancouver in May. This one would be a major standout if we weren’t so lucky to have such a jam packed month of great music.

September 23, WIKI at the Alexander Gastown
WIKI, the other half of RATKING (now that Hak left the group), comes through the Alexander on a Friday in late September. If his set is anything like the DJ set of Sporting Life, I’ll be happy. Together, the pair brings a real energy to their live shows. Separate, I’m assuming the same. Come check out one of NYC’s best young talents on the mic.
When: Friday, September 23, 2016, 8:00 PM
Where: 91 Powell St, Vancouver, BC

September 25, St. Paul & The Broken Bones at the Commodore Ballroom
Hit play on the video above then close your eyes and try to picture the lead singer. Let a minute or two pass and open your eyes. You may be surprised with who you see. Let another minute go by and just wait until you’re hit hard around the 3 minute mark. Paul Janeway aka St. Paul and his band, The Broken Bones, are reviving old soul and doing a damn good job of it.
When: Sunday, September 25, 2016, 8:00 PM
Where: 868 Granville St, Vancouver, BC

September 26, Jack Garratt at the Commodore Ballroom
Back to back nights at the Commodore don’t make for the worst Sunday – Monday. Adding Garratt to the mix makes for a great Monday night. Jack Garratt is a relative newcomer. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist more than makes up for his newness with undeniable talent and skill.

September 30, Kaytranada at the Vogue Theatre
The concert lineup this month ends just as strong as it starts. Montreal-based producer, Kaytranada wraps up the concerts in Vancouver September 2016. The middle of the month isn’t so bad either. Kaytranada will have the Vogue bouncing on Friday, the 30th. His beats are infectious, I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw a dance contest break out to Lite Spots. Grab a ticket from somebody if you can.
