Festival Preview: Levitation Vancouver June 16-18, 2016

It’s one month until Levitation Vancouver, the party in the park. Here’s a quick run down of the festivities…

THE HISTORY: Levitation Vancouver is entering its second year. The festival is an offshoot of the Austin-based festival of the same name. Formally Austin Psych Fest, it has spread its wings to Vancouver, France and Chicago. For the Vancouver chapter, event organizers partnered with Timbre Concerts to bring a full weekend event to our city.

THE MUSIC: “A wide range of international and local talent across the musical spectrum, with an emphasis on artists with an experimental and/or psychedelic edge.”

THE SETTING: Malkin Bowl, Stanley Park

THE LINEUP:

THE FOOD: Tacofino Vancouver, Juice Truck, The Local Omnivore Inc., and Rain or Shine Ice Cream

THE EXTRAS: Seven additional shows: Thursday, Friday an Saturday nights from $15-$25 at The Rickshaw Theatre, Imperial and The Cobalt.

THE VERDICT: Levitation Vancouver really stepped it up in their second year. Grab some recreational drugs and head to Malkin Bowl on a couple beautiful June days.
